Hagen Huttner

Dr. Huttner received his specialty training 2003-2009 at the Departments of Neurology, Heidelberg, Germany (Head: Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. W. Hacke) and Erlangen, Germany (Head: Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. S. Schwab). In 2013 Dr. Huttner sub-specialized in neurocritical care and geriatric Neurology. In 2014 Dr. Huttner became associate professor and leading senior physician at the Department of Neurology at the University Hospital in Erlangen, Germany.

Since 2021 Dr. Huttner is Chair and head of The Department of Neurology at the Justus-Liebig-University Hospital Giessen, Germany. Dr. Huttner´s main interest is improving stroke therapy by developing new neuroprotective treatment strategies. Clinical research mainly relates to acute and long-term management of patients with severe ischemic stroke and intracranial hemorrhages.
