Carolina Maciel

Dr. Carolina Maciel is the Director of Research for the Neurocritical Care division at the University of Florida Gainesville system and holds research faculty positions at Yale University and University of Utah. Carolina is triple boarded in Neurology, Neurocritical Care and Critical Care EEG; her academic interests include developing team science to tackle complex scientific questions in the neurocritically ill. Carolina's areas of scientific focus include neuroprognostication, brain injury monitoring methods, secondary brain injury mechanisms, novel therapeutic approaches to status epilepticus, and the critical care management of the potential organ donor
