Airton Leonardo
Dr Airton Leonardo graduated from Escola Paulista de Medicina - Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP). He subsequently trained in Internal Medicine in the same university, followed by a Critical Care Medicine Residency at Albert Einstein Hospital, both in São Paulo, Brazil. Then, he pursued a fellowship in Neurocritical Care and Trauma at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and St. Michael's Hospital, in the University of Toronto, Canada.
After completion of his training Dr Airton Leonardo joined the Neuroscience Research Program at Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, St. Michael’s Hospital, as an Affiliated Scientist. Following his returned to Brazil, Dr Airton Leonardo received a PhD in Neurology and Neurosciences from Escola Paulista de Medicina - Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), under the mentorship of Dr Gisele Sampaio.
Currently, he is a Senior Consultant at Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre, in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. His areas of research interest include aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage and severe traumatic brain injury.
